John Gore Studios today announced the strategic acquisition of Deep Fusion Films, a full-scale independent production company based in Cardiff, internationally recognised for combining premium storytelling with ethically led, insured and legally governed AI production tools and approaches.
Under the deal, Deep Fusion Films will join John Gore Studios’ group of specialist labels, retaining its leadership team and creative identity while operating as a centre of excellence for ethical AI-enabled production. The company will continue to develop IP and produce their own projects, while at the same time supporting John Gore Studios’ wider slate by providing in-house expertise, tools and workflows that enable innovation across development, production, marketing and archive-led projects.
Founded in 2023 by award-winning Producer/Director, AI specialist, policy writer and CEO Benjamin Field alongside CCO Jamie Anderson and executive chair Andrew Keats, Deep Fusion Films was created to answer a question increasingly facing the screen industries: how can emerging technologies be used to unlock new creative possibilities without undermining trust, authorship, or human creativity?
In just two and a half years, Deep Fusion Films has established itself as a pioneer in this space, developing one of the UK’s first fully insured, consent-based and rights-cleared generative AI production pipelines. The company’s approach is focused on enabling new creative outputs, formats and production techniques, while embedding ethical governance at every stage of development, production and delivery.
Deep Fusion’s work spans premium documentary, factual entertainment and scripted development, alongside experimental formats that include AI-assisted archive reimagining and new hybrid models of creation. Central to this work is a commitment to transparency, consent, and collaboration with rights holders, performers and creatives, ensuring technology expands creative ambition rather than replacing it.
The company is widely recognised as a leader in responsible AI adoption within the screen sector. Deep Fusion Films works closely with, and advises, industry bodies including PACT and Equity, contributing directly to the development of best-practice frameworks around consent, copyright protection, performer rights and data governance. Its methodologies are increasingly used as reference points for how AI can be safely and creatively integrated into professional film and television production.
Alongside its production slate, Deep Fusion Films is developing a suite of filmmaker-led, proprietary tools designed to support creative teams and rights holders, while remaining fully aligned with existing production workflows and industry standards. The tools are designed to reduce administrative burden, allowing creative professionals to focus on storytelling and craft.
