Hammer Films had a major presence at Tubi FrightFest London this weekend with the World Premiere of Ithaqua and the 4K restoration premiere of The Abominable Snowman (1957), bringing both new and classic horror to the UK’s leading horror festival.
Festival audiences were also given an exclusive first look at the newly restored 4K trailer for Dracula (1958), ahead of its October release.
Ithaqua is a tense survival horror set in the Canadian wilderness of the 1800s. Presented by legendary British studio, Hammer, and produced independently in partnership with the Fort William First Nation on their ancestral lands, the film blends history with folklore and psychological dread. Director Casey Walker’s twelve-year journey bringing this passion project to the screen is said to be as compelling as the story itself, with the production made possible after John Gore Studios helped finance the film, and Hammer holding distribution rights through their ‘Hammer Presents’ label, championing new independent horror.
Ithaqua stars Luke Hemsworth (Westworld, Land of Bad), Kevin Durand (The Naked Gun, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come), Craig Lauzon (Trickster, Beyblade), Leenah Robinson (Revival, 1923) and Michael Pitt (Day of the Fight, Ghost in the Shell). The film is due to be released soon in UK cinemas.
